Sex Habits of American Men — A Symposium on the Kinsey Report - Edited by Albert Deutsch

Prentice-Hall, Inc., 1948, Hardback ..
Condition: Good. A pleasant enough reading copy. Gently bruised at the head, tail and corners of the binding. Heavily faded at the spine. Edges of the text block lightly tanned. Text complete, clean and tight but a little age-tanned.

From the foreword: “THE Kinsey group describe their report as « an attempt to accumulate an objectively determined body of fact about sex which strictly avoids social or moral interpretations of the fact ». These interpretations, they add, will have to be made by others. No body of facts so vital to society can be allowed to float freely for long without serious effort to relate them to other aspects of human existence. Already, in the public discussions of the Kinsey report, many misinterpretations and actual distortions of the facts have gained wide circulation. In the absence of sound interpretation, some good people have expressed undue fear lest the facts themselves, as revealed by the Kinsey group, may have harmful effects, especially on young people. Others, with more justification, are concerned lest sensationalistic and distorted interpretations of the Kinsey data may stimulate undesirable public reactions.
