Condition: Very Good — in Poor Dust Wrapper. Edges of the dust wrapper frayed with a closed tear to the head of the upper panel, a little loss at the top corner of the lower, heavily faded at the spine and tanned on the reverse. Edges of the text block lightly tanned. Light tanning to the blanks and pastedowns. Text complete, clean and tight otherwise.
From the cover: “What used to be called, in the mid-fifties, the Soviet penetration into the Middle East has become, by the early seventies, a strong presence in the region and a deep involvement in its affairs. Yet the boundaries of the extension of Soviet influence in this area have not yet crystallized and the Soviet posture still fluctuates between new gains and sudden setbacks.
