The Poems of Anne Bronte - CHITHAM, EdwardMacmillan, 1979, Hardback in Dustwrapper..
Condition: Very Good - in Very Good DJ. Very slightly ruffled edges of DJ. Bottom corner of lower board knocked.
The elder Bronte sisters, Charlotte and Emily, contributed great novels to the English heritage. Until recently their talented sister Anne has been neglected. The aim of the present work is to provide an accurate new text ofher poetry, partly for its own sake and partly because it complements the work ofher sisters and throws considerable light on the relationship, literary and otherwise, between Emily and Anne. The introduction produces new biographical information about Anne's circle, including William Weightman and her ex-pupils. The text is newly edited from the manuscripts and includes many previously unprinted readings. 217pp. Index. Size: 8vo Demy (8½" x 5½")
