Condition: Very Good - in Good DJ. DJ edgeworn with several small nicks and chips, loss at tail of spine although bright overall. Lightly bruised at tail of spine. Light spotting to endpapers. Internally bright and clean.
The introduction of the Royal Sovereign class in 1892 with their 13.5 in. guns, was the birth of the modern big-gun ship, as we have known it. The Dreadnoughts of 1906 were the next notable development, and it was on these ships that the Grand Fleet was based.
