Biggles Air Commodore - JOHNS, Captain W.E.Oxford University Press, 1948, Hardback in Dustwrapper..
Condition: Good - in Good DJ. Wear at edges of DJ with some loss. Book sunned on spine. Slightly cocked.
Never did Biggles render such signal service to his country and the Empire as when he discharged the special duty for which he was invested with the temporary rank of air commodore. Several British ships had mysteriously disappeared in the Indian Ocean. They were supposed to have gone down with all hands in tropical storms: but each one had sent out an SOS, and something peculiar about these messages led Biggles to conclude that the loss of these vessels was not due to storm or accident. British ships conveying war material to the Far East were being systematically sunk. Why, and by whom? These were the questions that could not be answered until Biggles and his companions, Algy, Lacey and Ginger, had been through some hair-raising adventures.Illustrated with 7 line drawings by Alfred Sindall.
