Mr Jumble's Toy Shop was a wonderful place. A frightened doll could find comfort there: a homesick dragon could find friends. There were the toy mice, scampering everywhere: the bears, with their grand building projects: a Noah's Ark full of creatures, a Doll's House full of dolls, an airport, a garage, a farm set. There were motherly toys like Mrs Duck, sturdy and reliable ones like Policeman Trap, clever ones like Fingers, the White Monkey, who had lived in the Shop for many years and hoped never to leave it. The Shop was a place where a rocking-horse's dream could come true, because it was a place full of friends: a lively place, happy all year round, and at Christmas the happiest of all.
