Handwriting Manual - Wolffgang FuggerOxford University Press, 1960, Hardback in Dustwrapper..
Condition: Good+ - in Poor DJ. Unlaminated DJ a little edgeworn and faded with some closed tears.
From the introduction: “Wolffgang Fugger was a printer in Nuremberg in i55i1, and a disciple of Johann Neudörffer the elder, the most famous of German writing masters, who was still living when this book was published. To Neudörffer he refers the reader who desires more instruction and to him he acknowledges his own learning in the hands. The book is said by an 18th century writer to be based on a manuscript by the master. As such it merits the epithet ‘well-grounded’ that the title claims for it. But it was evidently intended as a simple introduction to a subject in which the author did not claim to be the highest authority.” This translation and reprint of Fugger’s “Handwriting Manual” was first published by the Lion and Unicorn Press at the Royal College of Art, London, in September 1955, in a Limited edition of 200 copies. Grey boards with Gilt titling to the Spine.
