A Pennine Journey - WAINWRIGHT, A.Michael Joseph, 1987, Hardback in Dustwrapper..
Condition: Very Good - in Very Good DJ. DJ slightly ruffled along edges. Mildly bumped at head & tail of spine and corners.
A. Wainwright had some holiday owing and he escaped from the atmosphere of gloom and despondency by walking alone from Settle in Ribblesdale to the Roman Wall along the eastern flank of the Pennines, returning down the west side. In the solitude of the wild Pennine hills, he found peace. The larks sang their hearts out, the sheep grazed in perfect contentment, the sun shone on a tranquil landscape. During the whole journey, he never met another walker. Upon returning home, he wrote this account of his journey.
