Son of Adam - Denis FormanAndré Deutsch [Andre Deutsch], 1990, Hardback in Dustwrapper..
Condition: Very Good - in Very Good DJ.
Illustrated with B&W photographs. Sir Denis Forman was born in 1917 at Craigielands in Dumfries, and was educated at Loretto and at Pembroke College, Cambridge. His memoirs describe the germination of two of his main interests: entertaining an audience and music. The first led him - after service in World War Two during which time he was wounded at Cassino - into films and television, culminating (when he was Chairman and Managing Director of Granada Television) in Coronation Street and Jewel in the Crown. The second gave rise to his only book before this one, Mozart's Piano Concertos, and to his directorship of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
