Pages lightly age-tanned. Previous owners' gift inscription to the verso first blank. Personal stamp to the verso of the frontis.

Unsigned or headed notelet pasted onto the first blank typewritten “with the author's Compliments". Illustrated by way of: Portrait to the frontispiece [Tissue-guarded]; The autobiography of Sir Henry Hamilton Johnston (1858–1927), explorer and colonial administrator, who was born London on 12 June 1858, and died 31 July 1927 at Woodsetts House, near Worksop.

Size: 9" x 5¾". Black boards with Gilt titling to the Spine. 536 pages.
