Condition: Good. A pleasant enough reading copy. Gently bruised at the head, tail and corners of the binding with fading to the spine and boards. Edges of the textblock heavily tanned. Soiling to the first blank, more lightly so to the last blank. Text complete, clean and tight but a little age-tanned.

First in this, The Cheap, edition. [First: 1920] 2pp. Publishers advertisements to the rear. From the DNB: “Rees was born in Melbourne where he was, for a short time, on the staff of the Melbourne Age and then joined the staff of the New Zealand Herald. In his early twenties he went to England.

His talent as a writer of crime-mystery stories is evidenced by Dorothy Sayers in the foreword to Great Short Stories of Detection, Mystery and Horror, 1928. Two of his stories were included in an American world-anthology of detective stories.”
