Recent Advances in Physical and Inorganic Chemistry - Alfred W. StewartLongmans, Green & Co., 1926, Hardback.
Condition: Very Good. Boards and spine somewhat dulled. Edges of the text block lightly spotted and tanned. Text complete, clean and tight but a little age-tanned.
5th Edition with 25 Illustrations and a fold-out chart. From the preface: “Owing to the advance in our knowledge during recent years, a complete recasting of this book has been necessary in order to find a place for the fresh information which has accumulated since the last edition was published. A dozen new chapters have been written, dealing with hafnium, the isobares, the results of mass-spectrography, the segregation of isotopes, atomic structure, active hydrogen, new hydrides, intense drying, and Tesla-luminescence spectra. A corresponding amount of the old text has been withdrawn in order to keep the book within reasonable compass. Only five chapters have survived from the 1920 edition with minor alterations in them; so that the present edition is practically a new book.”
