This book is an attempt to explain the broad physiological (and common-sense) principles on which treatment by diet should be founded and to show clearly how these can be put into practice without confusing the patient with superfluous instructions. To this end, every diet contains a brief summary of its main aims. The actual details then follow, but instructions are qualitative rather than quantitative.
