Lugworm Homeward Bound: Greece to England in an Open Dinghy - DUXBURY, KenPelham, 1975, Hardback in Dust Wrapper.
Condition: Very Good - in Very Good DJ. Very slightly ruffled edges of DJ. Top edges of text block slightly dusty.
This is the real-life adventure story of a sailor and his wife who, having towed their open sailing dinghy 'Lugworm' overland to Greece, decide to sail her back to England. In the spring of 1972 they sailed from Corfu on the start of their 2,600 mile journey home. Many longer voyages have been completed. What makes this one so different is the fact that it took place in an open dinghy with no cabin. A boat which cannot risk being caught at sea in foul weather. It was essential for them to coast-hop almost every inch of the way, accepting all the hazards and challenges this presented. Illustrated / decorative end papers. Illustrated with B&W photographs. 182pp. Maps. Size: 8vo Demy (8½" x 5½")
