Where the Hell Is Africa? - Philip SeymourThe Pentland Press, 1995, Hardback in Dust Wrapper.
Condition: Very Good - in Very Good DJ. DJ very slightly ruffled. Very lightly bruised at head, tail and corners. A nice copy with a touch of the leans to it.
At the age of thirteen, Philip Seymour entered RN College, Dartmouth, as an Officer Cadet. It was here that he first met those diverse, but fascinating, characters Vaughan, Lungley, Kersey, Wemyss and McGuire - with whom he was to live and serve. This band of heroic hooligans kept meeting throughout World War II, and beyond. Seymour recalls their adventures, emotions and absurdities with obvious affection, bringing those remarkable days to sparkling life. This is not a dry historical memoir, but Seymour does offer some serious reflections on the Navy and life itself, making this book a full-bodied and memorable work. 342pp. Size: 8vo Medium (8" x 5½" approx.)
