.First edition. A very good book in the publisher's yellow cloth binding. Thick 8vo. 9 x 6 x 2 . Illustrated yellow boards, with gilt titles to spine (sunned). Corners and hinges carefully strengthened. Patterned endpapers. Clean text throughout, with only light spotting to free-endpapers, page edges and margins. Illustrated with a coloured frontis, 9 full-page plates , numerous illustrations within the text, and a large folding map of Manchuria 1887 by H. Sharbau R.G.S. del.. A well preserved copy of this scarce book.
